Drapery Lining and Interlining Information

Lining and interlining is one of the most important part of a window treatment. It is often overlooked in many silk curtains available on the market today, but at Pate-Meadows we understand how important it is to use quality lining and interlining. Both are vital in giving our beautiful silk curtains that beautiful signature look and feel. Most "big box" retailers offering silk panels do not offer quality lining and rarely offer interlining at all.

What type of lining is used?

We use only Premium Sateen 100% Cotton Lining in our Curtains-To-Go. Many silk panels on the market use lighter weight cotton/polyester blends or no lining at all. Our Premium Sateen 100% Cotton Lining gives a softer appearance to the panels and provides extra light filtration, as well. We use ivory colored lining in all or our Curtains-To-Go.

What is Interlining? What purpose does it serve?
Interlining is a soft, 100% cotton flannel material that is placed between the silk and the lining. Silks by their nature are fine, delicate materials and the addition of interlining adds an unmistakable dimension of body, fullness and softness to the draperies that cannot be achieved without it. In addition, interlining provides protection against fading from sunlight and provides a degree of insulation in winter. Interlining is included in all of our panels.
